RATINGS

Honestly, these kids just need someone who is patient and understanding. I read so many progress parents and internal notes of "teachers" giving such harsh feedback to these kids. When we spend 25 minutes with them, we are a very tiny piece of the puzzle! Meet them where they are, smile. let them feel safe to make mistakes and be supportive. 9.9x out of 10 you will be fine! Don't take it too seriously! We aren't paid enough to treat this like anything else. I love these kids, they are so sweet and kind. Even the crazy ones (I teach 7th grade in inner city USA so these "bad" kids are amazing to me) aren't bad and it's only 25 minutes! :)

@ELIZABETH-16 Focus on the person and student first and teaching second. If you don’t accomplish a lot with the material, but you have a positive experience with the person/student, you’ve succeeded.

@Wayne-1 Very true. I have had lessons where the situation or material is obviously frustrating for the student. However, if you have compassion and can pull off the lesson leaving the student feeling somewhat relieved or even happy, they'll feel good and possibly continue and give a decent feedback. I like the student first, material second approach. Good thought process. This especially works well with the kiddies.

@Lisa-264 ouch!!. Sorry you have to deal with all that. I don't have the experience with children below 13 yet. Keep up the good work!!

@Eniola-1 imagine being booked for all 19 hours. Please take it easy. You can leave some open slots and fill them at least 4 hours early, when you're sure of not being scheduled.
I once booked 8hours straight, when I was low on activity. That was a month after a shadow ban and all 8hours were scheduled. I worked that day lol.

@Omehoma Haha, I can only imagine how shocking it would've been if I had all 18 hours booked! But honestly, I’ve decided to take things slow. It’s not the end of the world. When it comes, it comes. And if it doesn’t, I’ll try to rant a little less, haha. It can be frustrating seeing others get booked while you’re just sitting here, but I’m learning to take it one day at a time.

Morning, Marko.
On the 2nd of each month, the system automatically removes the lowest rating for every 25 ratings you received in the previous month. (aka the 4% rule )
Is the 2nd of each month based on Taiwan time or US time? Today is August 1st in the U.S., but my lower rating still hasn't gone away yet.
-
@YiChien It is still August 1st in Taiwan. Please check in a few hours, past midnight in Taiwan.
