Questions about penalty due to fixed schedule cancellation
-
Could someone please explain the reason to me?
I got the penalty because I cancelled the fixed schedule within 1 ~ 4 hours.
But on that day I didn't have any bookings, so I cancelled my schedule,
Is it not allowed to cancel the booking even if I don't have any (booking) students on the fixed schedule within 1 ~ 4 hours?

@Lily-34 It's stated in your service agreement. ANY cancellations under 4 hours result in a financial penalty (student or no student)😃

You still have to cancel unbooked slots before 4 hours. Personally, I think that is unfair. If there is no student scheduled, I should be able to close the spot any time. I would love to see that changed.

I agree! 100000000% lol :)

Don't forget the fact that classes can be scheduled up to an hour before.

@Judy-37 I don't think they will ever change that because it does not benefit the company.
-
@Wayne-1 It wouldn't hurt them either.

@Wayne-1 How does closing an unscheduled spot cost them time and resources? What time/resources are used in 1-4 hours that are not used in 4.5 hours?

@Judy-37 I quickly posted a comment between classes and later realized I gave the wrong answer. What I meant to say is that anything that benefits teachers is unlikely to be a priority. Perhaps, and this is just my guess, TABC doesn’t allow us to remove open slots less than four hours in advance because they risk being short on teachers if too many cancel. They want to keep as many teachers at home and available to teach, even if it disrupts our personal routines.
For teachers who regularly leave the house, this means being stuck at home, waiting for a possible class to pop up, which doesn’t seem fair. For others like me, who are home most of the time doing other things, it doesn’t really negatively affect us.

@Meghan-44 Yes, I realize that. I just think it is an unfair rule that should be changed.
