@Royce-0 在 New Announcement: Season's Greetings from TutorABC 中說:
they are going to have to work more this month to prepare for it.
as if it's that easy and all up to us to decide how much work we get... I wish it were...

@JASON-212 在 New Announcement: Season's Greetings from TutorABC 中說:
Some people will struggle to put food on the table. I feel for them, it is not fair. I am old, have savings, have multiple income sources.
This is exactly how I feel as well. It seems that the company is contractually entitled to delay pay for holidays, but an excessive delay like this isn't exactly reasonable, is it.
From my perspective, this is a perfect opportunity for a holiday season goodwill gesture. If the company grabs the opportunity and uses it, it will be remembered by the teachers in a very positive way.

As with everything else at TutorABC it is all automated - it is literally a push of a button to make payment - it has nothing to do with staff not being there - we can see our payment on the first of the month (completed) so everything is all in place. This is a deliberate delay (not a staff issue) Their system does not involve a human doing any calculations or deductions - 5 days will give them quite a bit of interest on that amount. Clearly, we are not a priority -
-
@Nada-6 I don't think that's a helpful accusation. I have no reason to doubt that it's more complex than simply pushing a button.
I understand the frustration, but I think payroll does a lot of work between the 1st and 10th of each month.I think we have enough valid concerns without assuming the worst motives.
I am still hoping for a reasonable solution.

I always thought clients are paying upfront for their packages, not at the end of the month?!
-
Is there any bonus this year?
-
@Tracy-96 As soon as I read it, I was outraged. I have debit orders set for the 15th that are for my '10th' pay. These will now not be covered because the money will only clear on probably 17th. My bank only allows changing dates twice a year, and due to a job change with a payday change, I have already used up my 'changes'. As someone said, it would take just a tiny bit of effort for them to pay before the holidays. Everything is automated these days, so it's just a case of making sure things are loaded on the system.

@Azeem Lol - probably something they have delayed deciding on - they're going on holiday!
-
@Robert-296 Quite frankly it royally forks me. I have like 324324 direct debits that go out on the 14th. What arrangements can I make? Time travel? Ugh.
-
@Sean-125 Yep. 5+ days is too much. Even 1 day is a stretch when you have payment arrangements around bills/rent/mortgage/debt, etc.
I know a couple teachers who are already on holiday and essentially missing a week of work. Or they have holidays scheduled at the end of the month.
How will they make an extra week’s pay for February?May there still be a solution to this, but also, if something like this even has a chance of occurring again, teachers need to know a few months in advance.
-
Yeah, it's going to be rough for some.
The company still has some time to rethink this, so let's wait and see what happens after the reps go to their meeting.
-
@Robert-296 Agreed.
-
In my country, you finish your work BEFORE you go on holiday, not after, even if you have to put in some extra time.
-
The 15th and 16th of February are national holidays in Serbia. Banks are not working. The fact that the 17th and 18th are regular weekend days and banks will not be open only compounds the issue. So I will receive my salary on the 19th of February. That is a very big problem for me because my wife is pregnant, and we are expecting a baby at the beginning of February. Please reconsider this decision.
-
@Dusan Sorry to hear about this. We have raised these holiday dates in Serbia in a meeting today.
We'll get back to everyone when we hear back (likely to be tomorrow now).

@Royce-0 I just can't imagine the thinking here? It's honestly insane to me. As working professionals do they not think "people have bills"? The solution of "save money from the month before" is insulting as it is short sighted. It's Christmas, the biggest most expensive season in the west. People take time off here the most. We're expected to work hard and cover shifts around their big holidays, but now we're expected to save a huge amount of our previous money to cover bills from the next month because they want to pay us later.
I'm hacked off.

@Sean-125
Some teachers are going to have to either get a loan or work more during the holidays this month. Additionally, teachers who celebrate Lunar New Year will also be too short on money to celebrate it when it comes on February 10th.Matthew mentioned above that there will likely be an update on this tomorrow, so again, I am hoping for good news.

@Royce-0 Im just venting, but I really need consistent payment times. Out by a day or two due to weekends I can cope with. 5 days is entirely too long. Bounced direct debits cost money. Money I cannot afford because I wont have been paid.
