How to Avoid Absences

  • TPRs

    Dear Team,

We’ve noticed that some teachers are relying on the Telegram Message Bot for their schedules. While it is helpful, the Bot only sends updates at certain times of the day and may not show classes added after the message is sent. Here are some tips to help you stay on top of your schedule and avoid absences:

  • @Jennifer-M Thank you, Jennifer:)

  • I was hoping to ask for some advice about my situation. I want to take a leave from my classes on September 27-30 and I'm not sure what the best way to handle it. Would you recommend I cancel each class individually, or is there a way to cancel all of them at once? I want to make sure I'm following the correct procedure and not causing any issues. Any guidance you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

  • Perhaps getting rid of the teacher app wasn't a good idea??

Just book off the 3 days as a block (1 cancellation).

  • I just got an absence this past Saturday because a whole slew of things happened at the same time. It was like a 'perfect storm'. 1st, the demo that was scheduled canceled. 2nd, I got out of my last demo, and the space was still yellow. I did my report, sent it, refreshed, and it was still yellow. I had telegram on vibrate. I refreshed, nothing. At :31, I got a notice that I was absent. I refreshed again, and it showed green. I checked telegram, nothing. I finally got the telegram notice asking if I was able to do the rest of my sessions, and said yes, but the absence remains. I don't have any real proof that nothing showed up on anything.

  • @Kristine-32 That’s crazy!! I feel awful for you 😞. I didn’t realize something like this could actually happen.

  • @Remy-0 I just cancelled an unscheduled slot (no class) and I'm happy to say that the cancellation email has a lot of useful information. Point 1 made me VERY happy! I often cancel unscheduled slots :) Hope this helps.

    Dear Stewart,

Your cancellation request has been successfully processed for the following sessions (GMT+07:00):

    • September 9, 2025: 14:30–15:00, 15:00–15:30

    General Reminders:

    1. Cancelling unassigned sessions (i.e., no client booked) will not affect your scheduling priority.

    2. Cancellations made at least 48 hours in advance typically do not impact your scheduling status.

    3. If AN CERTAIN AMOUNT OF % of your sessions with assigned clients are cancelled within a 14-day period, your visibility to clients who manually select teachers for 1-on-1 sessions may decrease.

      • Note: This does not affect how sessions are assigned to you by the system.
      • Clients who have marked you as a favorite teacher will still be prioritized when sessions are automatically assigned.

  • @Stewart-5 where did you get that information? I’ve never seen that before. I’ve canceled about two or three unscheduled slots in the last week. I just went back and checked and telegram always says the same thing. This is the message that I receive:

“We just wanted to let you know that the following cancellation request has been approved.” And then of course it gives the date and time.

  • @Wayne-1 Not telegram, you get this in the email. Got the same one, too

  • @Marija-3 Aah, I just checked my junk email and I can see what it says.@Stewart-5 it says exactly what you just posted. Sorry about that.

  • @Marija-3 @Stewart-5 I just went back and looked through all my cancellation emails and that wording was added recently, my guess would be September 1st.

Thanks, @Stewart-5, appreciate you sharing this.
We'll be posting an update later on this.

  • @Matthew-A Thank you! :)

  • @Stewart-5 This is very helpful. Thanks a lot! :)

  • @Kevin-H No idea why they got rid of it! I found it really helpful and useful! I really miss it! Please bring it back!
