Announcement: Cancelation Policy Update July 2023

@Jed-2 ????
-
@Marko-Ilic Then why does it say within 14 days? That is what is confusing me...If we 'have ANY cancellation in the past 14 days'... So, I can cancel 13 days ahead and be penalized by being hidden???
-
Oh...and I have to say, I think it is wrong to penalize a person who takes a few days off every so often. If it happens regularly, I can see being "hidden", but if it's a one off every few months, that IS NOT IRRESPONSIBLE!!! It is life and self care!
-
@Robert-296 I agree. It makes us look highly irresponsible when they lie about us to the client by saying we are being punished. I mean, I guess we are being punished, but certainly NOT irresponsible! I took last weekend off and canceled withing 14 days, but way over a week in advance. I had an important convention to attend. This weekend, I am living in the 'green zone'. Why? Cuz I took 2 days off well in advance of getting monetarily penalized? So now I am irresponsible? (First time taking off since the beginning of May, BTW.)

@Kristine-32
Yeah, my integrity is all I've got. I've worked hard to build my reputation, and I don't like it when a parent or student is told something that isn't true about my performance or stability.I still think it's not even necessary to tell the parent anything like that. Why not just allow them to have the teacher they want for their child? If they understood that the teacher had an emergency [because the teacher is human, and life happens], why does the company treat it as such a terrible infraction, penalizing the student along with the teacher?
I don't think it's going to change, though, so I'll just let it lie.
-
@Robert-296 correct :(
-
@Kristine-32 Same thing happened to my husband, but he was also removed from demos in "the cull", so those slots are not being filled. We will be eating Kraft Dinner...guess we gotta be patient. ;)
-
@Tracy-96 My sessions were filled with other types of classes...until last week when I took the weekend off for convention. This week? Half green... I even cancelled about a week and a half beforehand...so... I don't understand that 14 day thing. It confuses me. I guess the good news about this evening was that even though my classes were scanty, I got 4 new followers...
-
@Kristine-32 It's been very hit and miss for him the whole time. I hope yours will ramp up soon. We are assuming all the green dots are because the loss of demo classes happened after the students could book for the month. Some are trickling back in, but hopefully next month is better. Based on the new cancellation information, you shouldn't be affected at all since you cancelled well before the 48 hours.

If we 'have ANY cancellation in the past 14 days'
I think they want to say 'if we have any SUCH cancellation in the past 14 days';
meaning if a scheduled class was cancelled within less than 48hrs this will trigger the 'penalty';did you notice any changes in your schedule if you made the cancellation 13-14 days ahead?
-
I think 48 hours is just too strict. I cannot predict 2 days ahead.
-
@Gavin-0 Im In Thailand too, and yes it does kinda look it might be better to take an absence, in the sort of case. There was a power cut here last weekend on Saturday morning.
-
This is in effect now, right? I cancelled an unscheduled slot, so I hope it is.
-
@Royce-0 Yes, it is.
-
@Royce-0 Did you cancel any scheduled classes in the past 2 weeks?
Definition of scheduled class: Any slot taken with any class type, even Regular or Demo Standby.
-
@EVERYONE
Cancelations are counted only in a 14-day rolling period, it is always for the last 14 days. In this period of the previous 14 days, you should have as close to 0 cancelations of SCHEDULED classes, so green dots do not count if you cancel or untick them in any period, as long as it is done 24 hours in advance(to untick), or 4 hours in advance(canceling green dots).

This is what he told me.
This exists because there are regular instances of teachers cancelling scheduled sessions with their followers and we want to guarantee reliable scheduling for both teachers and students as far as possible. It’s a 30 rolling system meaning that it could take up to 30 days for this issue to resolve itself for the cancellation rate to go back to 0%, but rest assured that it always returns to normal.
-
@Robert-296 They have decided to change and revamp that policy after you raised the issues. But it is still a work in progress, and maybe it is better to have a 30-day rolling cycle, in my opinion.

Ah, ok, so this change happened after that email. He hasn't responded to me since then, so I didn't know.
Why do you think 30 days might be better?
-
@Robert-296 I'll tell you after the meeting I'll have with Michael on Monday. I don't want to cause any panic, but I will test it on myself. I will be away from July 16th to 29th, and I canceled a few scheduled sessions during that period. If I have 5 canceled classes in that period, and 0 done classes, that means that my % would be 100% classes canceled in the 14-day period, which sounds a little bit scary, doesn't it? What do you think?
