How to select a good TESOL certification provider?
-
I need to get a TESOL certificate soon, but I’m not sure which institutions offer courses and certificates that are widely accepted. Some of them are too expensive and I can’t afford them. I’d like to ask about other people’s experiences—for example, with World TESOL Academy or other providers. Thank you!

@YUPING You asked about getting a TESOL certificate, and I found something pretty cool! You can actually get one from Arizona State University right on Coursera. Now, if cost is a concern, they do have financial aid available through Coursera. Just a heads-up, it won't cover the whole program, but it'll definitely make it more affordable. So, if that sounds like something you're interested in, my suggestion would be to check out the financial aid application directly on the Coursera site.

@YUPING Hi there!
The best thing to do is to check the list of the officially accepted ones first or reach out to Comms for details.
Check the list and the pricing, and see what works best for you.
Keep in mind that students see this information on your profile, so some might be worth the effort in the long run.You'll find more information here: https://tutorabc-tp.deskpro.com/kb/articles/if-i-already-hold-a-tkt-do-i-still-need-a-tesol-certificate-to-teach-on-the-platform
I got my TESOL from the International Open Academy and my TEYL from the Global Language Training (UK).

@Remy-0 Yeah, that's also one good way to get the certificate. After I achieved my Master's Program (which already covered the TESOL Program), I still took some online courses about TESOL on Coursera.

@Remy-0 Thanks for your information : )

@Marko-4 Thanks for your information.

@Yi-9 Thanks for telling : )

@Marko-4 I have another question. International Open Academy is not on this list. Is it still accepted? Thank you!
-
@YUPING All of their courses are assessed and accredited by the International Council for Online Educational Standards.
Mine was accepted without any issues, but I’m not in a position to give any guarantees.
It might be better to check with Comms before you buy.

@Marko-4 Got it! Thanks for your response.
