My mentor is STEVE 131, but I can't find him

  • Hello everyone,
    I just got an email from my mentor @STEVE 131 telling me that he wants to reach out to me in the community, but I do not know how to find him. I searched his name and tag, and no results showed. Could anyone guide me how to get in touch with him?
    Thank you in advance!

    @Sandra-174 I've sent you a DM.

  • Hello Marko, I received a similar email but it was from @Evelyn M. How do I get in touch with her please?

  • TPRs

    @Faith-23 I'll DM you.

  • Hi Marko -I -I think you are my Mentor -speak soon

  • Same for me, can you please help Marko? He wants to schedule a 1on1 for dates and times which do not work for me AND I've already got a meeting with another mentor scheduled for June 8 (Matthew A). Thanks

  • On another subject although related I have just been unable to connect to to 8.00 pm taiwan time lesson -in the class before some functionality disappeared half way through the lesson as well..This is the second time in a week this has occurred and last time i wasn't the only teacher to have a problem connecting .
    Following the problems last week a student has complained although I was switched at the start of the complaint lesson and will be speaking as requested to Marko -I as mentor .
    There have been no problems to connect for the last 4 years since installing fast fibre and I don't believe the problem is at my end of the connection as everything else works normally.
    I look forward to discussing with Marko as to why there is suddenly a problem .

    @Chris-2 An advice my friend.

    It's generally a good practice to reboot your router periodically, usually about once a month, to maintain optimal performance and clear out temporary memory issues. If you experience frequent slowdowns, connection drops, or other performance issues, you may need to reboot it more frequently, even weekly or monthly, according to the router manufacturers.
    Why reboot your router?
    Clear Memory:
    Routers, like other electronic devices, can accumulate temporary data and memory over time, which can lead to slowdowns and performance issues. Rebooting clears out this accumulated memory, according to e2etechnologies.
    Refresh Connections:
    Rebooting can refresh the network connection and resolve minor connectivity issues,.
    Improve Performance:
    By clearing memory and refreshing connections, a reboot can help improve overall network performance and speed, according to tp-link.
    Troubleshooting:
    If you're experiencing internet problems, rebooting your router is often a good first step in troubleshooting,.
    Prevent Long-Term Issues:
    Regular reboots can help prevent potential long-term problems caused by accumulated data and memory buildup,.
    How often to reboot?
    Monthly (or bi-monthly):
    For most routers, a monthly or bi-monthly reboot is generally recommended for optimal performance, says E2E Technologies.
    More Frequent (weekly or monthly):
    If you experience frequent problems like slowdowns or connection drops, you may need to reboot more frequently, such as weekly or monthly, according to tp-link.
    Older Routers:
    Older routers may require more frequent reboots to maintain optimal performance.
    Scheduled Reboots:
    Some routers allow you to schedule automatic reboots, which can be a convenient way to ensure regular reboots without having to do it manually.

    @Darin Hi Darin, who is trying to reach out to you? Evelyn? We are talking about two different things.

    1. Evelyn is monitoring in-class teaching performance, and maybe you've had a complaint from the client that needs to be addressed in person. Best is to write to your Mentor, if it is @Evelyn-M, you may click on her name, and send her a message.
    2. As for @Matthew-A, me and other TPRs, we schedule meetings for absences/disconnections and other in-class and out of the class tech issues that result in client's complaints.

  • Thanks Marko -I will re-boot my router ,but why is all other aspects of my connection and computer function perfect apart from recent Tutor ABC problems .
    Presumably reboot yer router means turn it off and then back on again ???

  • @Chris-2 I've had issues with the TABC website a few times last week and this week. Everything else was working perfectly, but TABC wouldn't load, at all. Luckily, the issues always started after I entered the sessions so it didn't cause any absences. But, while the class was fine, the home page and MSP were completely unresponsive.

  • @Chris-2 said in My mentor is STEVE 131, but I can't find him:

    I'm glad I'm not the only one!

  • Yes Eva -i don't understand computers but if the only problem website is tutorabc and everything else works perfectly then it seems pretty clear to me where the problem lies .
    Anyway the system has appointed 2 mentors to sort me out (Marko -I and Jennifer M ) who i will be meeting next week . In the meantime i have been hit with a shed load of absences ???

  • TPRs

    @Chris-2 But Chris, the problem doesn't have to be on the Tutor ABC side or we would have 1000 absences in the same hour as you did.

  • There were numerous other teachers complaining about Fri 23rd when it occurred .

  • TPRs

    @Chris-2 5? 10? Out of 2000? Just saying. I had no issues, and most of the people I talked to had no issues.

  • @Marko-I No, I'm talking about "Steve131". So I guess I'll disregard that one and just attend the one with Matthew. Thanks
