A Scheduled Class Disappeared
-
On Tuesday, June 3, I noticed that a class was scheduled on my fixed schedule, and I could see the teaching material. However, there was no student information, and the system displayed the message "To Be Updated." When I checked again yesterday, June 4, the scheduled class had disappeared. I am wondering how this could happen.
Additionally, are students typically scheduled with a teacher 3 to 4 hours before the class? For reference, I canceled my fixed schedule (which had not yet been scheduled) about seven days ago. This cancellation should not affect my AI-matching classes, thanks?

It means the student canceled the class.
And to answer your other question, you can be scheduled a class up to one hour before the start time.
If you canceled a green dot, it will not affect your AI-match classes.

I see. Will I get a replacement for the student who canceled my class? Probably not, since I am still new here? ^^"
If you cancel a green dot class, it will not affect your AI-matched classes.
Will this cancellation impact my cancellation rate? Thanks!

@YiChien There are several factors that determine whether another class will be scheduled in that open slot, such as the time of day and student preferences, so it’s difficult to say for sure.
If the cancellation was made more than 48 hours in advance, it won’t affect your cancellation rate.

Thank you, Jennifer.

@YiChien My suggestion is to not cancel anything if you don't have to. Even if it is green, just hang with it and hope it fills. Pretend you are "on call", and don't schedule any other "life" in those times you have dedicated to work. That way you don't have to worry about AI. That's what I do, and my schedule is almost always full.

Thanks for the advice, Kristine. I've been hanging around here. :) AI assigned a class to me at around 5:30 p.m., and I spent about an hour preparing. Then, I noticed that the class was canceled again. How can my assigned classes be canceled twice in two days in a row? lol... But it's okay—I guess I just have bad luck. Or is there another reason behind this? I started teaching last Sunday on Tutor ABC, and my first week went well—I had five classes. But so far this week, I haven't had any classes. Hopefully, next week will be better.

I agree with @Kristine-32. I never cancel the green dots. I just look at them as a chance to have a little break if they happen, but I've also had last-minute messages on Telegram saying "Apologies for the last-minute notice, but we've just gotten a short-notice booking from one of our clients online. We're wondering if you're able to accept the class..." It's a 'first come, first serve' basis, but if you're quick enough sometimes you can snag a class that is scheduled under 1 hour. I've picked up a few new followers by successfully winning the class "lottery".
